Columbus, Ohio June 1, 2007 - Leadscope announces the appointment of Dr. Chihae Yang to the position of Chief Scientific Officer.
This announcement signifies a promotion for Dr. Yang. She joined Leadscope in September 2000 as a Senior Scientist. During her tenure with Leadscope she has been responsible for product development in the areas of Prediction and Toxicity Database creations. Her most recent position was that of Vice President of Toxicology & Predictive Modeling. Dr. Yang is also an Associate Professor at The Ohio State University, lecturing on chemoinformatics, data-mining and predictions. She has served as the Principal Investigator for several grants Leadscope has received, including the Advanced Technology Program grant with NIST and the Technology Action Fund grant under the Third Frontier Program from the State of Ohio.
Loftus Lucas, Leadscope's CEO, said, "The promotion of Dr. Yang to Chief Scientific Officer is extremely warranted. She has been the driving figure as the Principal Investigator for Leadscope in the completion of the ToxML standardized vocabulary in our CRADA with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. She continues to oversee the expansion of the standardized vocabulary of ToxML with the FDA into other endpoints. She is also extending the concept Data to Models with many of Leadscope's customers in the area of legacy toxicity data capture through to toxicity prediction."
Leadscope will continue to expand its CRADA relationship with the FDA for the creation of additional endpoints within our ToxML standardized vocabulary, creation of additional toxicity databases and endpoint specific prediction models. We will also expand the ToxML standardized vocabulary into the area of environmental toxicity. Dr. Yang will oversee these expansion areas.
